Generating a privacy notice

The GDPR document your hall is supposed to publish.

0:24 long

What this covers

  1. GDPR, then Privacy Notice
  2. It uses your hall's own details
  3. Generate it, then read it through
  4. Publish it on your website

Step by step, in writing

The same guide as the video. Tap a time to jump to that moment.

  1. 0:02

You are supposed to have one of these

A privacy notice saying what you hold, why, and how long you keep it.

  2. 0:04

Open Privacy Notice from the menu

  3. 0:06

    It knows your hall already

Your name, address and contact email come across, so you are not filling in a blank template.

  4. 0:10

    Generate the notice

It covers the things a village hall actually does - bookings, invoices, a mailing list.

  5. 0:13

Read it before you publish it

It is a strong starting point, not legal advice. Change anything that does not match how your hall works.

  6. 0:17

Then put it on your website

And link it from your booking form, which is where people hand you their details.

  7. 0:20

    One afternoon, once

Review it if the way you use people's details changes.
