1. 0:02

   Most village halls are not VAT registered

   If yours is not, you can skip this page entirely.

2. 0:04

   Open VAT from the menu

3. 0:06

   Off by default

   Nothing on your invoices mentions VAT until you say otherwise.

4. 0:09

   If you are registered

   Turn it on, put your number in, and invoices start showing VAT correctly.

5. 0:13

   Room hire is often exempt

   Which is exactly why this needs to be a deliberate setting rather than a guess.

6. 0:16

   Ask your accountant first
