Christmas, the village fete, a week of building work. Block them once and forget them.

Name the closure
This is what shows on your calendar in place of a booking, and what a hirer is told if they try to book those dates.

Those days are blocked
They show as unavailable on your public calendar. If you marked it as the hall being closed, nobody can enquire about those dates either.

Since this was filmed: choose the sort
A holiday - half term, Christmas - lets anybody still enquire, and only stops term-time repeat sessions. Choose "Hall closed" for building work or anything else that shuts the hall, and nobody can enquire about those days at all.
